In Like a Lion

Welcome to March! We have definitely had the wind here in East Texas, lemme tell ya. I don't know what's happening to me, but I suspect Texas is trying to turn me into a southerner again.

I can't seem to get warm. I love winter, though, so I'll fight and dig my heels in to keep from being dragged into summer too fast. I was daydreaming of summer when I made this card. The hummingbird stamp is from Inkadinkado, and if you look closely, you'll see that bird is made up of butterflies!

I paired it with my favorite vibrant raspberry Stampin' Up paper that I've hoarded since forever. I hope wherever you are, this brings you a little peek of spring and a warmer breeze.

Ta!

Birthday Week

Hi all!

It's Kim here, again.

The end of February/ beginning of March means a lot of birthday cards.
My twins turn 16 this week!
Also, my daughter's boyfriend turned 17 last week and she asked me to make him a card.

I wanted something simple enough for a teenage boy, without any flair.

The above card is about as simple as it gets.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Hello

For today I pulled out this birdie I had from Unity Stamp Co which I haven't used.  I paired him with some great Webster's papers and a Unity Sentiment.

I decided to paper piece the bird as well which I think gives him some fun color.

Are you pulling out your old stamps and papers and using them?  Let us know.

Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats Love Couple

Hey there friends!  Maria here this week with a few cards using some older images in my stash.

Today I have a wedding card themed one using an adorable image by Stamp Oasis.

Isn't this the cutest image?  The Congrats sentiment is by Unity Stamp Co.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Cupid

Happy Valentine's Day!
For today I made this cute Valentine's card. I have had this stamp set in a drawer and have never inked any of the stamps until now, but I think that I will make a few more cards using that little cupid before I put this away.

Stamps, papers and ribbon are all from Stampin' Up, and so is the cute heart embossing folder.

We are celebrating Valentine's Day by having a dinner picked by the kids. Lucky for me they want french dip sandwiches, easy peasy, dinner is already cooking in the crock pot and the house smells great. I am off to bake some cupcakes, and hopefully craft a little during nap time today.

You make my heart Flutter

Hi, Eva here again with a card for you today. I apologize for the not so great picture, but it has been grey and dark here for a few days, and my 3 year old "fixed" my good camera,  now it does not work. So I am stuck with using an old camera that is not so good unless the lighting is great.

These stamps are from an older Kit of the Month from Unity.  I decided to try doing a chalkboard look for this card, sort of a new technique with my old stamps. The red polka dot paper is from PTI and has been in my stash for ages.
I am off to make some Valentine's for tomorrow, and do damage control so Vaughnie does not "fix" anything else around here :)

TTFN!

Thank You!

This week a friend asked me to help her make some thank you cards for her FRG group helpers. She wanted to be able to include a pack of gum, and here is the card I came up with for her.

I put a pack of hot chocolate in this one, since my house has two teenagers and we are always out of gum.

The military stamps have been in my stash for years, they are from from Art Declassified, and they were perfect for this card. Since my friends husband is in the artillery, I added the red ribbon for the artillery red color they use. Not sure where the camo paper came from, it has been in my stash for a very long time, and I was so happy to finally use it.

Happy Monday to everyone!
Eva

Rainy Days

I've been in the studio today, enjoying the cooler weather and rain. We had a nice thunderstorm which sent all the animals into hiding. I pulled out some of my old Stampin' Up! patterned papers to create this cutie:

I created 2 raised layers (been loving that!) with inked edges. I cut the banner, stitched the side of the other patterned paper panel, and dyed-to-match 2 Prima flowers. I added just a little bling to accentuate the triangle design that pleases the eye so well.

I hope you're staying warm and dry, and that you feel inspired to pull out some of your older supplies and show them some love.

Ta for now!

Love Bug

Howdy! I'm saying prayers for all of my friends in the path of Nemo. Wow. What a poor name choice, NOAA. You know, Valentine's day is very near. Do you have your gift ready for your sweetie? I don't have a sweetie this year, so I'm doing my own little treat for myself.

One of the great things about resetting my studio is the rediscovery of images I bought long ago. These poor little bugs were probably dying in the stack of rubber! This is a set from Unity back in 2010. I really need to show all of my older images some daylight.

I hope you are safe and warm wherever you are. I'm looking forward to sharing another project with you very soon!

Ta for now,

~ky

Bugging You

Here's a sweet little card for you. It was one of several I made for Splicoast Stampers' virtual stamp night. Do you play along? There are sweet challenges, and loads of love to be shared.

There will be another VSN March 1 and 2, so keep a lookout for the announcement, and come play along!

I can't believe this week is almost over. It's been busy and full, but I still managed a little crafting time. This card is from Gina K Design's 3rd anniversary set. I hope it inspires you to add a little whimsy into your life!

Ta for now,

Monday Monday

It was a fast and furious weekend, capped by a great Super Bowl. I really enjoyed most of the commercials, too, except that Go.Daddy one. Shudder! Eww. Ok, so this will provide some mental floss to get that image out of our minds.

I made this clean and simple card for the Splitcoast Virtual Stamp Night Challenge hosted by Theresa. She had us follow a recipe - 2 birds, 3 types of embellishments, and 4 bright colors! I used the sketch for CAS challenge 204 (also on Splitcoast).

Here's hoping your Monday isn't one of 'those' Mondays. Thanks for stopping by!

Better Late Than Never

Hi all!!

Kim here, again, and today I'm posting a little later than normal.
That's ok, right?

I had this idea in my head for a few days.
What can I do with all the little scraps of ribbon that are in my mason jar?
The striped panel on the card is just scraps wrapped around a piece of cardstock and secured with ATG tape. Cool idea, right?

I pulled out my Elzybells stamps to go with the colorful and playful ribbons.

Hope you are having a great day!

Love You Forever

Hi all!

Can you believe January is almost over?
It's time for Valentine cards and lots of pinks and reds.

I want to start out with a CAS and pretty Valentine card.
It can also be used as a general "I Love You" card for someone you care about.

I don't know what it is about polka dots and white space, but they really make me happy!

Make sure to take some time to pull out your old supplies and create something.

xoxo,
Kim

Denim Blue

Hello there! Maria back with another cute card to share with you using a great image by Queen Kat Designs! This one is from The Willow Lane Collection and is called Sweet Denim Blue.

Isn't this the cutest?  Perfect for any little boy's birthday!

Thanks for stopping in this week and check out my cards!

That's all for now!

Celebrate!

Hello there!  Today I have another card to share with you.  This one is a birthday card I made this weekend for my friend who turned 40!

I pulled out some Webster's Pages paper that I had in my stash. I don't know when this was released but I'm sure it's been sitting around for a little bit of time never used!  Turns out it it worked perfectly for my card.  The numbers were pieces of chipboard I had and I added Stazon ink and glitter.  The ribbon is a piece i found hanging out, the flip side of the ribbon is actually polka dots but I wanted the solid side so I flipped it.

So go find some really cool pattern paper in your stash and make a card, you'd be surprised how cool and simple you can go.

Take care!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Day

Hey there Stamping With The Oldies fans!  Maria here this week with some cards to share!

Today I'm sharing a card using this great girl image from Queen Kat Designs.  I haven't inked her up and had her for a while so here she is.  This is from the Willow Lane Collection and is called Mother May I.

I went through my stash for pattern papers and found the doilies so now I must use those.  I thought this came out very cute for a little girl birthday card or just a fun all occasion card!

NOW be sure to dig through your stash and use what you have!  C'mon you can do it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Eva here with a card for you today. I made this card a while ago, but I really like the kraft and pink together and how this turned out, so I wanted to share it here. The beautiful stamp is from Unity.

I hope everyone has had a great start on the new year. For me it has been super busy, but fun too. Here in NC the weather has been spring like for the past few days, so I have been having a lot of fun playing with the kids outside. Today however I am going to spend some time playing with my stamps and hopefully make some Valentine's Day cards.

Thank you for stopping by!

Playing the Waiting Game

I'm trying to patiently wait for a delivery. I'm not that good at patience, though. So, I thought I'd share a little project with you while I wait. I'm hoping that getting involved in something will trigger the delivery!

I made this card from a kit created by a friend of mine. While I can't take credit for the design (which I adore), I can take credit for the coloring. Yep, copic markers are some of my best friends!

I'm not wishing this month away, but I am a fan of Valentine's. Just because you don't have a sweetheart doesn't mean you can't celebrate. What are your plans? I love myself, so I'm thinking I'll treat myself to dinner and a movie. Maybe I'll do a practice run before then. Hahaha!!

Hope your January is still shiny and new!

A week later...

Here we are, one week into a brand, shiny-new year. How's yours shaping up? I'm still working on getting my expectations, goals, and checkpoints established, but it's progress! Here's a little project I whipped up. Now, I can't take credit for the design, this was a wonderful card kit from a past design teammate of mine.

The cute young lady is from the Greeting Farm, and I think the words stamp is Stampin' Up (but it's been so long I could be wrong!). I colored this lass with my Copic markers (which I have fallen back deeply and madly in love with).

Here's a little close-up. You can barely make out the glitter I added to her heart on her dress, and the ruffles around her shoes. That paper with the hearts on it is flocked! I love flocking! I puffy heart love it. It is my 'glitter' because you all know, I can't deal with glitter.

Ok, it's time for you to get started on wonderful spring projects. The big chocolate holiday is next, then we're on to St. Patrick's day and Easter. Hope you get a little kick out of this card!

Toodles!

The Chill of Winter

Hi everyone!

Today is my last day to post for the week

and since it's so cold outside I made a snowman card.

Set is from PaperTreyInk.

I enjoy playing with this little guy.

The snowflakes above the sentiment are just doodles made with a white gel pen.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Well Behaved Women....

Happy Thursday!

I'm so glad this is a short school/work week.

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the weekend!

The above card is a CASE of one I found in my stash. I used the same color scheme, basic layout, and image, but improved on it a little.

This sentiment always makes me laugh.

I couldn't take a picture of my old card since it was falling apart. It was one I made with no purpose and didn't have anyone in mind to send it to. This time, I do. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi all!

With the start of the NEW YEAR

we are starting a new format here on the blog.

Each week, one of the team members will take a turn,
for that entire week,
and post as little or as much as they want.

Each member can choose their own theme, challenge, or just post whatever she wants.

The goal is to create using our supplies.

My card above was created with some Authentique patterned paper and punch out embellies.

Stop by tomorrow and I'll have another card for you all.
