Proud to Be...

Hi everyone!

It's Kim here today....

This past weekend, I attended my very first Operation Write Home event.
One of my friend's daughter is in the Navy, and her sister got her involved in the cause. She, in return, asked me to attend...and the rest is history! If you aren't familiar with it, Operation Write Home (OWH) is a charity where cardmakers create cards to send to the troops so that they have cards to send home to their families.

For more info, you can check out the link, here

Above is one of the cards I created for the event. The background and main image are all from the same $1 stamp set that I got YEARS ago at Michael's Crafts.

Our event was a success. Over 700 cards were donated!!
I can't wait to attend another one!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow...
Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Unknown
Ink: Red, Navy
Paper: Red, Navy, White
Other: punches (SU!), white gel pen, red stitched ribbon

  2. Great post, Kim! This card was perfect for Operation Write Home! I'm one of their biggest cheerleaders! Thanks for attending the card making event and for donating all your wonderful cards and talent, I encourage anyone else who enjoys making cards but doesn't know what to do with them, to check out Operation Write Home, too. We'd love to hook you and reel you in!

  3. Love your card, Kim! Last year my husband sent me several cards made by someone for OWH, so I know that these are appreciated by soldiers and their families, and I am now making as many as I can for OWH.
