Hi, this is Sherry! Today I am sharing a Thank You card I made inspired by everyone going back to school. I don't have anyone going back to school this year, but I know quite a few of you do. When I was growing up, it was always an exciting time for me. It was one of the few times a year I got brand new clothes (yes, apparently I loved clothes shopping even as a kid) and I loved shopping for school supplies. Yes, that's right- school supplies! My favorite item was picking out a new
Trapper Keeper. Once upon a time you could get them with cool designs and photos- not just the plain colored ones they have today. I was also excited to see my friends from school again. Yes, they were better and simpler times- now back to reality. :)
As I was organizing my 12x12 designer paper I came across the Elementary Collection from Studio Calico. I used that as my jumping off point and also added some cork to simulate an bulletin board. I pulled out some old Stampin' Up stamps to create the message.
Stamps: Stampin' Up Headline Alphabet and Small Script
Paper: SU Old Olive; PTI Lemon Tart; Studio Calico Elementary Collection
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Nestabilities, Corner Rounder Punch, Oval Punch, MS Border Punch, Old Olive Ribbon, Silver Brad
I would love to know what you think- did I capture the Back To School feeling using my old goodies? Last week we inspired our friend Jimmi Mayo to pull out one of her oldest tools, the crimper to create. To see what she did with her crimper, go
HERE.
This week anything goes with the Stamping with the Oldies girls so check out Maria's post tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!
I think you captured it beautifully! If only we had Trapper Keepers this pretty! (I always had a psychedelic bright colored one). LOVE your gorgeous card, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteSherry - this is darling! It reminds me of the bulletin boards we had in each room. Now I need to make sure to have one in the studio! I always loved back-to-school time, too. More for the cool school supplies, book covers, and the rhythm of the school year than for clothes. But I'm weird like that! Great card!
ReplyDeleteSherry, this is gorgeous, I love the colors, the papers and the design on this.
