Multiplicity

Hi friends - it's Ky today. Last week, Maria challenged us to use paper piecing to make a card. Well, I have a confession. When I paper piece, I can't make just ONE card.

I had a three-part image, and I had to cut one of each critter to make one complete, pieced image. That meant I had enough left over for 2 more images.

So I just used the same layout and swapped the papers around to get the set completed. This is the old Basic Grey Nook and Pantry paper set - remember how huge this set was? I remember waiting weeks to find it in-stock, finally!

This is perfect if you need one to send, and want to donate the others to a great cause like Hope You Can Cling To (Splitcoaster's card drive for cancer) or Operation Write Home (benefiting soldiers deployed overseas and their families here at home). Pull out your old stuff, and give it a whirl. You might surprise yourself!

Ta for now,

~ky

Woo Hoo- It's Monday! ;)

Sherry here- it's Monday.  It's not my favorite day of the week, but it isn't so bad when you have a card made with a "classic" stamp set.  For today's card I am using (again) Stampin' Up's Just Celebrate.  What can I say?  It was still on my desk and it has been extremely under-utilized.  I think I will be using it more in the future- it's a great stamp set!
For today's card I used the Owl from the set.  I just love this little guy. He can be paper-pieced or colored and either way- he's totally adorable!
The card stock is from Gina K but I can't remember the patterned paper (don't you hate it when you cut off the strip with the info on it?)  I went with paper-piecing and used Nestabilies.  I hope you like it and are inspired to pull out your old supplies and make it fresh!  Have a great Monday (yes it is possible...I think? lol)!

Yesterdays Papers

Hi Everyone!
This week we are making a paper pieced project using some of our oldest papers. I have hoarded so many papers over the years that I am not sure exactly which paper pack is the oldest of them all. These papers from K & Co. that I used today have been in my stash for a while, they were unopened with the price tag still on, so I know that I got them in Illinois (where we lived when I first started "collecting" paper), so they have been in my stash for at least 5 years and 3 moves, before I finally decided to use them today.

The stamps are from Unity from a kit called "Shine Out", and I added the ribbon and a few pearls, but have no idea where either came from.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope that you have enjoyed this weeks paper pieced projects. Eva

Happy Thursday!

This week we are pulling out one of our oldest pieces/packs of paper and paper piecing with it.  I found an old probably my first (or close to it) Basic Grey packs.  I paper pieced it using an old Unity flower.  This flower and sentiment is from an old store kit from a few years ago.

This is what I came up with:

It came our pretty simple but with the colors I think it gives it a nice fall feel.

I hope you are enjoying our daily posts and inspiration to dig into your stamping stash to create with all those supplies you have had forever!

Till tomorrow!

Pieces of the Past....

Hi- Sherry here! This week Maria challenged us to paper-piece and image using our first/oldest patterned paper.  I couldn't find my oldest patterned paper (I know I have it somewhere...lol) but I found paper pretty close to being my oldest.  Petals and Paisleys from Stampin' Up.  I also pulled out an old SU set that I have barely used but have not been able to part with.  It has lots of cute images- Stampin Up Just Celebrate.  The rest of the card is pretty simple and self-explanatory.

I hope you are not disappointed in my CAS card.  I must confess I have had a lot of things on my plate this week so I went basic. But that's the good thing about our blog- we showcase your older items in all kinds of styles, right?  Thanks for stopping by- if you play along feel free to link to one of our posts.  I would love to know what your oldest patterned paper is and see what you can do with it!  ;)

Pieces of my Heart

Hi again - it's Ky here today to share with you my paper piecing project. Don't sprain your tongue! This is an image from Gina K Design's Petals and Wings stamp TV kit. I paper pieced the balloon, basket and heart, and applied flocking to the puffy clouds.

I used some older Basic Grey paper. Maria challenged us to use our oldest, but my oldest was way back in the late 1900s, and it wasn't good enough to hoard! Are you playing along? Link us up so we can see how you roll, old school! Check back tomorrow for more inspiration!

Ta for now,

Piece for Baby

Hi everyone!

Maria's Challenge this week was for us to make a card using paper piecing, using the oldest paper pack that we had on hand.

I had a few supplies left over from the card I made 2 weeks ago.
They both use the oldest paper pack that I have on hand. At least, the oldest that I remember.

I put together another VERY SIMPLE baby girl card.

The middle of the onesie is paper pieced with a cute baby girl pattern.

Thanks for stopping by!
