Merry Christmas! Fun with Button Bear

Hey there crafters and welcome to Stamping With The Oldies!  Maria Levine here today with a new creation for you.  How do you like our idea for inspiration using your old crafty items.  Dig deep into your craft room and I'm sure you will find lots of products you have not used in a long time and in some cases probably never used.  I hope you will craft with us and share your creations.  A link is coming Friday so keep your eyes peeled for it.

For my card today I used an old Stampin Up set which was my very first stamp set ever back in 2002 called Button Bear.  Do you remember this one?

It was my VERY first stamping party ever and I had no idea what it was all about.  BUT when I saw the demo actually stamp I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen.  Since, I've been addicted!  I also found some old paper in my stash to use as well to make this cute Christmas card.

Well I'm glad you found us and hope you like the inspiration.

Till tomorrow...

Maria

You Always Remember Your First....

Welcome to Stamping with the Oldies!  My name is Sherry Campbell - some of you may know me, some of may not.  I started stamping in early 2006 and became obsessed for several years.  The last 2 years I have not stamped much due to changes in my work and personal life.  I am looking forward to getting back into the groove and creating again.  Since I haven't been stamping I also have not been buying stamping supplies the last 2 years.  That does not mean I have a shortage of stamping supplies by any means, lol.

While having the "latest and greatest" stamping supplies is certainly fun, there is no reason why we can't create lots of great projects with the items we have accumulated over the years. In rubber stamps, old is still good! I know there are a lot of stampers out there who can relate. The pressure to buy the newest trends can empty our wallets and fill our shelves. No sooner than your new stuff arrives the next "great" thing is out.  Believe me, I got sucked into this more than once which is why I have a lot of stamps, paper and ink- some of it never used! This blog is dedicated to projects created with stamps and patterned paper that is at least a year old or older.  We are not restricting card stock and ink however since these items need to be replenished if you are creating regularly.

For the first week of our blog we will be using our first (or oldest if we don't still have our first) stamp set. This could get very interesting since several of us have been stamping for a long time.  I can't wait!

I fell in love with stamping in 2006 at a Stampin' Up party.  the first stamp set I bought was Loads of Love along with Loads of Love Accessories.  I don't use it very often, but I can't seem to part with it because it was well, my first (stamping) love.  I paired the stamps with some newer accessories like die cuts and punches- but nothing newer than 3 or so years.  I am a little rusty so I hope you will go easy on me- I can't wait to create more!!

Stamps: SU Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories
Paper: Gina K Kraft, PTI white, PTI Pink Patterns 6x6 pad
Accessories: SU Label Die, Nestabilities Label Die, SU circle and scallop Circle Punches; SU Kraft Ribbon

I hope you are inspired to pull out some of your stash and create something new! Each day this week you will see projects from the "Oldies Chicks"  On Friday we will give you the opportunity to link up your Oldie but Goodie projects using your first or oldest stamp set.  There just might be a give away if you do!!  (wink, wink!)  So come back tomorrow to see what Maria created with her first stamp set!  Have a great Monday!!
